SAMPLE ITINERARY

This group of islands is situated in the north and north-eastern Aegean Sea, close to the border with Turkey. They all offer stunning scenery and unspoilt nature.

Remote Ikaria is named after Ikarus, the Greek boy who plunged into the sea here after flying too close to the sun. It is a wild and wonderful island, with torturous mountain roads, forests and beaches that have a special appeal for those looking for outdoor nature and beauty. Still difficult to get to, those who make the effort are richly rewarded. The island is also one of only five 'blue zones' on the planet - a place where people live remarkably longer lives. All the more wonder then that Ikaria is so little known.

Lemnos is an unspoiled island with a very Greek flavour, where the priorities remain agriculture and fishing, rather than tourism. It has excellent sandy beaches & Myrina is an attractive harbour town. The island resembles a huge butterfly, with its many bays giving it a coastline of over 260 kms. It is the eighth largest Greek island, which means plenty of scope for exploration. Beaches are superb, being sandy and safe, and there are many to choose from including lovely Plati.

Samos is wonderful for walkers, with 160 kms of coastline and a rugged mountainous interior to explore. You will encounter magnificent scenery, traditional inland villages, small fishing hamlets, seaside resorts and many fine beaches. With an international airport, tourism here is aimed towards the upper end of the market.

Thassos is the greenest and most northerly of the Greek islands, only 40 minutes by ferry from Kavala on the Macedonia mainland. Known as ‘the Emerald Isle’, it offers a combination of cypress and pine forests, chestnut and olive groves & mountain villages. Its 115 km coastline has a huge variety of beaches, from small rocky coves to long beaches with golden sands, whilst inland mountains rise to peaks of 1,200 m.
