SAMPLE ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Arrive in Montréal

On arrival make your way to your hotel.

Day 2: Explore Montréal

Vibrant and welcoming, there's seemingly something to see and do around every corner in Montreal. See where the city first began along the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal, view the mighty St Lawrence River from the shores of the Old Port, shop along Sainte-Catherine Street and stroll northward to the foot of Mount Royal.

Day 3: Montreal/Quebec City

At leisure before heading to the railway station for your 3 hour VIA Rail journey to Quebec City. Sit back, relax, and absorb some of Canada's most beautiful countryside as you travel between the two cities. The train crosses the St Lawrence and passes through wilderness and quaint small towns On arrival, make your way to your hotel.

Day 4: Quebec City

Wander through the European-style streets and discover more than 400 years of history. Get a fantastic viewof the river as well as stunning vistas from the must-see Dufferin Terrace and Chateau Frontenac. Amble along Saint-Jean street which is lined with boutiques, restaurants and churches. See also the Citadelle, the plains of Abraham, the Old Port, Place-Royale and Parliament Hill.

Day 5: Quebec City/Baie-Saint-Paul

Collect your hire car and set off on what's sure to be an exciting journey getting to know this fabulous Canadian province. Your destination today is Baie-Saint-Paul, cultural capital of Charlevoix and home to museums, art galleries, gourmet restaurants and lively bars (80 miles).

Days 6: Baie-Saint-Paul/Tadoussac

Travel on to Tadoussac (which involves a short 10 minute ferry journey), which nestles in one of the world's most beautiful bays, at the mouth of the Fjord du Saguenay. Many marine mammals find their way to this spot and can be seen from the shore and on the water (76 miles).

Day 7: Tadoussac

You may wish to book a whale watching trip to further your chances of seeing these incredible creatures. Other options here include stepping out on a variety of hiking trails, playing golf or simply soaking up the rich history with a leisurely stroll around the village.

Day 8: Tadoussac/Saguenay

Drive west following the Saguenay River to Saguenay. This is very much a place to feel at one with nature, with trails to explore, mountains to climb, watery fun up for grabs and views to admire (79 miles).

Day 9: Saguenay/Saint-Alexis-des-Monts

Head southwards for the Mauricie region and Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, another destination where nature is

present everywhere (246 miles).

Day 11: Saint-Alexis-des-Monts/Mont-Tremblant

Bear west for Mont-Tremblant, a year-round resort well-known for its plethora of outdoor activities, spas, festivals, shops and restaurants (105 miles).

Day 12: Mont-Tremblant

While away some time in the picturesque pedestrian village at the foot of Mont-Tremblant. Make the most of the surrounding nature with endless hiking opportunities, try your hand at zip lining or mountain biking and, if golf's your game, there are some spectacular courses to play.

Day 13: Drive to Montréal airport

Check out from your hotel and return your vehicle to the Montréal airport rental depot.

 

PRICING

Price is based on two adults sharing en-suite accommodation on a room only basis, unless specified. Intermediate car hire is included, as well as admission to the Wildlife Zoo at St. Felicien and a whale watching excursion. International flights are not included and will be quoted separately.
