SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1: Direct to Holland

Mid-morning departure on the direct Eurostar from London St Pancras to Brussels. Here we connect with a local Intercity train to Utrecht for a 3 night stay.

Accommodation - Hotel Apollo 5 nights

Day 2: Utrecht Railway Museum

We take the short walk back to Utrecht Central to catch the shuttle train to the Railway Museum. Located in the former Maliebaan Station, this houses an interesting collection of rolling stock, hand-cars and draisines, as well as displays of models and vintage memorabilia. Our visit includes a guided tour and there is a restaurant on-site for lunch (payable locally).

Travel back to the hotel is at your leisure, giving you the opportunity to spend more time here if you wish, or sightsee using your rail pass.

Day 3: To Amsterdam

We provide a standard class rail pass which will allow you to travel today to Amsterdam at no extra cost. We also include a transport pass as the tram network is the best way of getting around the city. Return to Utrecht.

Day 4: Rotterdam

Using the rail pass again take a day trip to Rotterdam. The city was virtually flattened in World War II but has been rebuilt. The world’s largest container port, Europort, now stretches for a distance of 25 miles from the city to the sea. From Rotterdam there is an excursion by water bus to Kinderdijk, a collection of 19 restored and working windmills designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 5: Den Haag and Delft

Today’s excursion takes in Delft, home of the famous blue and white porcelain, and Den Haag which is the seat of the Dutch parliament and home to the Royal family.

Day 6: Back to London

Return to London via Brussels and Eurostar.
