If you wish to see the Northern Lights in Norway, this short break combines two prime aurora watching locations – Tromso, the capital of the Arctic Circle, and remote Malangen Resort with its clear night skies. Situated on the edge of a fjord, Malangen has a mountainside wilderness centre, Camp Nikka, that’s a short walk from the hotel and used to keep watch for the aurora around a campfire.

SAMPLE ITINERARY
Day 1: Fly to Tromso
Fly to Tromso airport and make your way to the city centre using the regular airport Flybus service or by taxi (payable locally).
Check in to your hotel in this small city that is the capital of the Arctic Circle and is surrounded by fjords and forests.
Day 2: Transfer to Malangen Resort
Transfer from Tromso to Malangen Resort (journey time approx 90 minutes). The arranged transfers depart from Tromso at 10:45 & 18:20 hours. Your stay will be based on a 3-course half board basis for two nights. Take time to check-in and enjoy your surroundings.
Day 3: At Leisure
Enjoy the idyllic winter scenery or join one of the optional activities such as dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing and Sami storytelling. Overnight at Malangen Resort. In the evening keep watch for the aurora or join the evening northern lights watch excursion to Camp Nikka, just 15 minutes walk away
Day 4: Transfer to Tromso
Take part in optional activities before transferring to back to Tromso (depending on transfer time), or extend the stay further with extra nights in Malangen Resort. The arranged transfers depart from Malangen at 09.00 & 16.15 hours to the city centre.
Day 5: Fly Home
Depending on your flight departure, you may have time to see more of the city before making your way back to the airport by taxi or Airport Flybus service (payable locally) for your flight home.
Note: As the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, sighting can never be guaranteed.
PRICING
Price is based on two adults sharing en-suite accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis in Tromso and half board at Malangen Resort. Airfares are quoted separately to the holiday price and start from around £280 per person (with higher fares during peak times). When enquiring, our Travel Specialists will provide the best fare possible from your preferred airline / airport.
